TANGLES

Join Director Leah Nelson and Producers Lauren Miller Rogen and Seth Rogen at the screening of their film Tangles - a truly special and beautiful film. Adapted from Sarah Leavitt's graphic memoir Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer's, My Mother and Me, director Leah Nelson's impressive feature debut is a star-studded, adult animated drama that follows Sarah as she juggles a long-distance relationship, a burgeoning career, and her mother's Alzheimer's diagnosis. In 1990s San Francisco, Sarah (Abbi Jacobson) is finding her footing as an illustrator and falling for her girlfriend, Donimo (Samira Wiley), when she learns that her spirited, fiercely loving mother, Midge (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), is beginning to lose her memory. As Midge's condition worsens, Sarah, her father, Rob (Bryan Cranston), and her sister, Hannah (Beanie Feldstein), each struggle to accept the diagnosis and to care for the woman who always cared for them. The voice cast also includes Seth Rogen, Bowen Yang, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and Pamela Adlon. Drawn by hand in black and white, punctuated with flashes of color, Tangles is a tender, honest portrait of a family holding on to love as memory fades.
