Stormin of the Sazerac 2026

The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel will host the annual Stormin' of the Sazerac on Friday, September 25, 2026 in the Blue Room. This one-of-a-kind celebration pays tribute to the empowered group of women who stormed the Sazerac Bar in 1949 demanding equality and a stiff drink. This event broke a 100-year-old tradition as previously, women were only allowed in the bar on Mardi Gras Day. Stormin' of the Sazerac is a day of celebration, recognition, cuisine and entertainment including:

• A ladies-only three course luncheon

• Live entertainment


• Juried best-dressed competition

Following the Blue Room festivities, our Reigning Spirit of the Sazerac will lead attendees in a second line to “storm” the world-renowned Sazerac Bar, where the spirited day continues with Sazerac cocktails in-hand.

Ladies are invited to dress in post-war New Orleans style, such as hats, veils, peep-toe shoes and gloves. Doors to the world famous Blue Room open at 12:45pm, and the celebration begins with the traditional ladies lunch at 1:00pm. Live entertainment will be provided, and the event will feature a fashion show showcasing vintage styles with a best-dressed competition.

Tickets to Stormin' of the Sazerac are pre-paid at time of purchase and are non-refundable. Guests must be 21 years of age or greater. Communal Seating.
