Singing in the City of the Angels

La Boz Galana and Concerto Scirocco present lively villancicos from 17th-century Puebla, Mexico. Featuring music by Gaspar Fernández, these spirited works are full of rhythmic energy, vivid storytelling, and a blend of cultural influences. Performed by a 12 singers and instrumentalists—featuring cornetto, sackbut, dulcian, and baroque guitar—this program offers rarely heard musical tradition from the early Americas.
