Possible Love follows two married couples on vastly different paths, each hiding desires of their own. Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) lives quietly with her laid-off husband Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu) and their young son, Cheol. A funeral brings the family into contact with Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), a documentary filmmaker whose latest project is chronicling laid-off factory workers. Mi-ok agrees to be filmed and grows close to Ye-ji. She also finds herself uneasily drawn to Ye-ji’s husband, a wealthy fund manager named Sang-woo. As their worlds collide, fractures begin to appear in both couples' daily lives. Marking his first release in eight years, acclaimed director Lee Chang-dong (Burning, Poetry, Secret Sunshine) brings his signature nuance to Possible Love, capturing the shifting emotions and contrasting outlooks that shape these relationships. The film won the Silver Lion at Venice, and Lee Chang-dong received TIFF's new Ebert Director Award, a first for a Korean filmmaker. Possible Love is South Korea’s submissions to Oscars for Best International Feature.
