NHHS Fall One Act Plays 2026

Members of the North Hills High School Drama Club will present three student-produced one-act plays on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. Each play has a student production team including directors, stage managers, light and sound operators, and promotional team in addition to the cast and crews. Under the supervision of adult staff, the production teams put together all aspects of the shows from rehearsal to performance, providing visions for scenic, costume, and lighting design.

This year's shows are as follows:

“And We’re Live!” (comedy)
by NH Drama Club alum, Landon Schmidt ‘25
In this comedy, we follow Mark, an average guy who works a desk job at The Company. He doesn’t really understand what his job is, but it has good pay, so he goes along with it. Little does he know, he is actually being watched every day by a live audience. His life even has its own Narrator! Between pining for Sarah and helping Jacob and Lilith solve the mystery of the missing items, Mark must realize his current situation and escape for good! The real question is, can he?

“A Trip to the Moon” (dramedy)
by Tracy Wells
Told around the time of the moon landing, this vignette-style play is comprised of scenes, each named after an iconic song from 1969. From a girl trying to convince her parent to let her go to Woodstock in “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” to a woman trying to get a job at NASA in “Bad Moon Rising,” these scenes and more use humor and heart to teach us about who we once were and reflect on who we could be and remind us that to achieve the impossible, we must reach for the stars.

“The Monsters Under the Bed” (comedy)
by Fr. Dominic Garramone
Stephanie's having a sleep-over with her friends when they are joined by her young cousin Melissa who can't get to sleep because she's afraid of the dark. But soon the monsters come out from under the bed, and no one can get to sleep. As each girl describes her own personal fear, those fears come to life. The girls help each other overcome their fearssome help from Stephanie's older sister Cathy and her monster friend Gruntable.

Tickets are $7 each for reserved seating and can be purchased beginning October 16 at www.nhchoiranddrama.net. The NH Drama Parents & Friends Association will also have raffle basket items available in the lobby during intermission to raise funds for the drama program at North Hills.
