It’s BFF 2026, the 11th Annual BFF Binge Fringe Festival of FREE Theatre, October 13 through November 20, the only FREE Fringe Festival in the nation, offering 37 in-person plays, workshops and family-oriented events, presenting:
The true story of Barbara Brady’s lifelong involvement with a “funny uncle” (the family’s euphemism for his odd, sometimes inappropriate behavior). She re-lives the joys and traumas of visiting her grandparents’ house, which she eventually inherited along with "Uncle Jay," who never moved out. She thinks she’s had enough therapy to handle him. After all, he’s probably outgrown his... uh... tendencies. But, as an old man, his acting-out takes a weirder turn. After he dies, she has to clean out the house where, yes, she discovers his porn collection. But that’s not the strangest secret hidden in his house. Written & Performed by Barbara Brady.
“Impressive... this is a woman worth leaning in and listening to.” Seth Kubersky, Orlando Weekly
Special thanks to generous grants from the We Are Santa Monica Fund, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Commission, and Playhouse PALS. The BFF celebrates the range and depth of the human condition and the idea that theatre arts experiences are vital, transformative, and must be available for all.
