From writer-directors Kelly O'Sullivan and Alex Thompson (Saint Frances, Ghostlight) comes Mouse, a moving and deeply felt story of friendship, family, and growing up. It's 2002 in Arkansas, and best friends Minnie (Katherine Mallen Kupferer, Ghostlight) and Callie (Chloe Coleman) are heading into their senior year of high school, with Minnie long living in the protective shadow of the charismatic and admired Callie. When their friendship is suddenly upended at the start of the summer, Minnie struggles to define her own identity and forms a complicated relationship with Callie's poised, attentive mother, Helen (Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo, Hotel Rwanda), pulling her further from her own chaotic home and her mother, Barbara (Tara Mallen), a veterinarian. With warmth and honesty, the film captures the ache of losing the person you thought you'd always have, and the unexpected places we turn for comfort. Mouse premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival. Q&A with writer-director Kelly O'Sullivan and actors Katherine Mallen Kupferer and Tara Mallen following the screening.
