After an incredible sold-out first show at The Finch at The Distillery Complex, we're back with another open air, rooftop party overlooking Pittsburgh's historic downtown cityscape on Sunday, August 23rd. Headlining this time is an Amsterdam-based house duo, Makèz!

Makèz has spent over 15 years turning a teenage love of house music into a sound that's all their own. Drawing from hip hop, jazz, and disco, their sound lives between underground club grooves and songs that feel both familiar and fresh. They were inspired by the likes of Slum Village, D'Angelo, Moodymann, and Theo Parrish, every track is an invitation to explore, feel, and connect. They've released on labels such as Defected, multiple singles + their 3rd full length album in 2025 on ANOTR's No Art, Classic Music Company, and Heist, Their 2023 breakthrough "Downstream" with Life on Planets became one of the year's biggest tracks of the summer. They're the real deal when it comes to house music and we couldn't be more excited to finally get them to Pittsburgh.  

Starting the afternoon with some summertime moody house will be our own Koopmusik playing b2b with long time favorite Mayo for the first time. Joining them will be Pittsburgh house duo Plinkos, making their Finch debut. Once the sun reaches the horizon we will be featuring live fire performances overlooking the breathtaking views of the city at night by Core Collective Entertainers. Don't miss our last house party of the summer in the perfect setting.

Like any story, Makèz's music carries multiple layers. Their recent projects reveal an approach that challenges listeners to hear beyond surface-level expectations. The duo found each other in their early high school days, through a shared love for house music. They’ve spent over 15 years translating their taste and vision into music that lives somewhere between underground club grooves and songs that resonate beyond the dance floor. Drawing from the rich textures of hip hop, jazz, and disco, they craft electronic music that feels both familiar and fresh - a bridge between nostalgic rhythms and contemporary productions.

Their journey from teenage music enthusiasts to international artists, is a narrative of organic growth and musical intuition. After moving to Amsterdam, they immersed themselves in the city's nightlife, transforming their youthful musical curiosity into a professional pursuit that would reach dance floors across the globe. The two developed an almost telepathic connection—complementing each other's strengths both on stage and in the studio. Their differences aren't obstacles, but the very source of their creative language.

Makèz’s discography has been marked by releases on labels like No Art, Classic Music Company, Heist, and Balance Recordings. However, 2023 marked their definitive international breakthrough with "Downstream’’ together with Life on Planets, as summer's most sought-after track ID.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.
