Longturn Presents: Ivory (Sunday Shift)

Longturn is coming in hot this summer with our very first open air, rooftop party overlooking Pittsburgh's historic downtown cityscape located on the 6th floor restaurant/bar/patio of the The Finch @ The Distillery Complex. Coming from Milan to guide us into the sunset for the Sunday Shift will be none other than Italian producer extraordinaire, Ivory! Ivory has released on inconic melodic house & techno and indie dance labels such as Innervisions, Afterlife, Kompakt, Multinotes, Diynamic, and Spectrum. He also recently collabed with Zhu on his latest album. We're ecstatic for him to make his Pittsburgh debut with us as we reach new heights together at this gorgeous space.
   
Our musical curators building the soundscapes of our afternoons before sunset are Mem_ary returning to the decks, followed by InnerSound's Jen Núñez, and lastly our very own Koopmusik. Once the sun reaches the horizon we will be featuring live fire performences overlooking the breathtaking views of the city at night by Core Collective Entertainers. Come down early for drinks, stay for dinner, and dance the sunday scaries away.

The Tuscany tower isn’t something you skipped in your history class but stands for Ivory and his approach on how the artist perceives music: a tower that provides as a refuge. And so do Daniel’s releases too, they stand out from the collective conglomeration of music.

Ivory shapes his music working with hardwares, plug-ins, samples and field recordings, delivering as personal as possible music, a trademark sound that have a wide range of distinctive traits; from melancholic melodies to dancefloor euphoria, from house & r’n’b-inspired vocals to futuristic detuned synths, every different part establish a unique soundscape. 
 
Milan based producer and DJ he started to captive attention of international audience bringing a surreal beauty to his innovative brand of electronic composition and releasing music on renowned labels as Innervisions, Afterlife, Kompakt, Multinotes, Diynamic, and Spectrum. 
 
His approach also carries through to his DJ performances with his sets that showcase his hypnotic storytelling that starting from his residency at renowned Volt Club in Milan, leading him all around the world. The Italian has strongly built a name for himself as a one of most interesting producer in the electronic music scene.

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the Longturn.

Longturn music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.
