Preserve Living History. Be Active Outdoors. Make a Difference.

Connect with nature, build community, and gain hands-on horticulture and conservation skills at Lyndhurst.  Help preserve native gardens, orchards, historic specimen trees, and seasonal plantings within this nationally recognized historic landscape.  Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply love being outdoors, there’s a place for you here.

Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance for a volunteer spot. 

What to Expect:

• No experience required


• Training and tools provided


• Flexible shifts (1-3 hours)


• Light to moderate physical activity


• Water + rest breaks


• Weather-dependent scheduling


• Sturdy shoes and sun protection are recommended.


• Ages 18 and Up.


• Check in at the Front Gate and then meet at the Welcome Center.
