Join us for a fascinating afternoon on Sunday, September 13th at 2 p.m.! 

Daniel Delavan was commended by both George Washington and the French Marquis de Lafayette, and he was present at the execution of British spy, Major John Andre. Don't miss the chance to learn more about this courageous man from local historian and educator John M. McMenimon, who will discuss the life and career of the General and his children. The talk will focus on the amazing role the Delavan family played in the American Revolution and in the establishment of the towns of North Salem and Ossining. John will also cover Delavan involvement in the development of business, education, and politics in the U.S. between the 1820s - 1860s.

The talk will be held outdoors (weather permitting) at the beautiful Delavan family plot at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In case of rain, it will be held indoors.

There is plenty of parking just inside the South Gate (430 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY). Cemetery staff will guide you up to the location of the presentation.
