M&M Performing Arts presents Oscar Wilde’s comedic masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Step into Oscar Wilde’s brilliantly sharp comedy of 19th-century manners, The Importance of Being Earnest, performed at the Lyndhurst Carriage House this November. Follow two wealthy bachelors as they invent fictional personas to escape dull social duties, only to get hilariously tangled in their own web of lies when they both fall for women who swear they can only love a man named Ernest.

Packed with biting wit, iconic characters, and rapid-fire satire, this timeless masterpiece hilariously skewers the absurdity of high society of the Victorian age - where trivial things are taken deadly seriously, and the most serious things are treated as a total joke.

Performances run from November 6 through 22 at 7:00pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 2:00pm & 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays in the accessible Carriage House at Lyndhurst.

Directed by Michael Muldoon and stage managed by Emmy Schwartz & Nan Weiss, the cast includes: Ariel Francoeur, Mari Gordon, Madison Landau, Peter Moriarty, Michael Muldoon, Leslie Smithey, Richard Troiano and Rob Troiano.

• Kindly check in at the Welcome Center at least 15 minutes before the show’s start time, as there is no late seating.


• The performance will take place in the Carraige House. The Carriage House is accessible.
