Da Tree Podagee: Max Angel, Jason & JJ Jerome

Da Tree Podagee are a close-knit trio of talented musicians rooted in the rich musical tradition of Maui. Born out of the Lahaina Music Shop ‘ohana, the group blends generations of talent and aloha spirit into a sound that's distinctly their own.

Front man Max Angel, a gifted vocalist and ‘ukulele player, brings charisma, humor, and heart to every performance. A lifelong student of Hawaiian music, Max's passion is evident in both his songwriting and stage presence. On bass and vocals is Jason Jerome, a seasoned musician, songwriter, and mentor whose rhythmic foundation anchors the group. Rounding out the trio is JJ Jerome, Jason’s son and student, whose harmony and ‘ukulele playing reflect both heritage and emerging talent.

Specializing in both traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music, Da Tree Podageez are known for their tight three-part harmonies, lead and rhythm ‘ukulele, and rich bass lines that come together in a warm, signature sound.

Slack key guitar rising star, Shem Kahawaii, hosts the show, presenting songs from his vast traditional Hawaiian repertoire. The lovely Wainani Kealoha dances hula.

The Slack Key Show - Masters of Hawaiian Music is every Wednesday evening at The Napili Kai Beach Resort's open air Aloha Pavilion on Maui.
