Comedian CP

With the help of Yondr bags, we at the Comedy Store create phone-free spaces for artists and comedians.  

What that means: Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches are placed in Yondr cases and will be unlocked at the end of the show. Guests maintain possession of these items at all times. Guests may also access their phones at any time only in the designated Phone Use Areas throughout the venue. All phones will be re-secured upon returning to the event space.

Anyone seen using a device during the performance in a non-designated area will be escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.

Comedian CP


Comedian CP is the new host of COMIC VIEW. Named to Vulture’s “The Comedians You Should and Will Know of 2025,” Comedian CP is also a writer/producer and recurring character on the second season of DIARRA FROM DETROIT. 

 

Previously, CP was a writer/producer and recurring character on HOW TO DIE ALONE for Hulu/Onyx (winner of the Independent Spirit Award for Best Ensemble Cast in a Scripted Series) and starred in the second season of the HBOMax anthology series LOVE LIFE currently streaming on Netflix. He co-created  and starred in OLE BUD’S ANU FOOTBALL WEEKLY for Adult Swim and recurred as “Ned” on the critically acclaimed Comedy Central series DETROITERS.

 

His debut comedy special SUNDAY AFTER SIX was named one of The 33 Best Comedy Specials of 2025 by The Los Angeles Times.

Chris “Comedian CP” Powell is currently in post-production on THE BUD GELLERSEN SHOW, a pilot he is starring in and created for Adult Swim. He is also recurring as “Ned” on the critically acclaimed Comedy Central series DETROITERS.nnPrior to the entertainment business, CP was a rising advertising executive in Detroit. Since arriving in Los Angeles, CP has landed recurred on EMPIRE, performed on ALL DEF COMEDY(HBO), created and starred in the TBS pilot THED, and hosted the MTV2 series WORLDSTAR TV.
