Join us at SNFL to hear the "buzz" directly from authors and publishing industry professionals about new and upcoming titles for Pride Month. Free and advance copies available while supplies last!
This event will take place in person and online at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library on the 7th Floor.
The 7 Stories Up Book Buzz will be a delightful evening filled with literature, engaging discussions, and opportunities to meet authors and fellow passionate book lovers. Here's what to expect:
- Attend panels featuring LGBTQ+ writers and LGBTQ+-focused titles
- Learn about new and upcoming titles from Penguin Random House staff
- Browse free and advanced reader copies of titles by a range of authors reflecting the theme
- Giveaways while supplies last
To join the event in person | Doors will open 30 minutes before the program begins. For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission. All registered seats are released shortly before start time, and seats may become available at that time. A standby line will form 30 minutes before the program.
FEATURED SPEAKERS
Davey Davis is the author of Casanova 20: Or, Hot World, X, and the earthquake room. They live in Brooklyn.
Katie Siegel (she/they) is a former wannabe kid detective who eventually realized that writing mysteries was more fun than trying (and failing) to solve them. When she's not writing books, she’s either reading, listening to comedy podcasts, or playing TTRPGs with her friends. Online, she’s at katiefliesaway.com, and offline, she's in central New Jersey, which is real and exists.
Michael Bronski has been active in gay liberation as a political organizer, writer, publisher and theorist since 1969. He is the author of numerous award wining books including Pulp Friction: Uncovering the Golden Age of Gay Male Pulps, You Can Tell Just By Looking: And 20 Other Myths about LGBT Life and People and Considering Hate: Violence, Goodness, and Justice in American Culture and Politics, coauthored with Kay Whitlock, and A Queer History of the United States (reissued in a revised fifteenth anniversary edition in 2026.) In 2017 he was awarded the awarded the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Publishing Triangle. He is Professor of the Practice in Activism and Media in the Studies of Women, Gender and Sexuality at Harvard University.
Kate Bornstein is an author, playwright, and performer who has been reshaping gender and identity conversations for over thirty years. Their books, including Gender Outlaw, My Gender Workbook, and Hello, Cruel World, offer a compassionate rethinking of living outside the binary. A longtime performer, they’ve toured internationally, debuted on Broadway at 70, and appeared in The Blacklist and I Am Cait. Their memoir, A Queer and Pleasant Danger, recounts their journey from Scientology to gender outlaw.
